This is a pharmacology textbook made for medical students who are learning about the basic and clinical pharmacology. This textbook has been compiled from lectures by Professor, Pharm.D., Kenneth N. The third section of the textbook contains information about drug-drug interactions, drug interactions with foods and other medicines, local side effects (such as nausea, vomiting), and pediatric medications (i.e., drugs used to treat children). Next is a section on substance abuse; substance withdrawals; abuse potential; drug recreation; reverse pharmacology; and psychopharmacology. Finally is a summary on how to take an exam for any type of medical school (licensure or board examinations), and finally a bibliography. As stated before, the textbook authors are Dr. Robert G. Smith, Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Pharmacy, and Professor Kenneth N. Kistler. Dr. Robert G. Smith was born in Detroit in 1952 and earned his BS (Bachelor of Science) in pharmacy from Wayne State University in 1974; his MS (Master of Science) in pharmacy education from the University of Michigan in 1975; and his Ph.D (Doctorate degree) also in pharmacy education from Wayne State University in 1978. His research interests are in questions of tobacco dependence. During his career, Dr. Smith has published over 35 articles/book chapters in the field of pharmacy. Professor Kenneth N. Kistler was born in Munising, Michigan in 1955, and received his BS (Bachelor of Science) also in pharmacy from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor under Professor R. Michael Bellamy's guidance, M.D., Ph.D., Pharm.D., from Wayne State University School of Medicine under planning direction by Ronald Wohlgemuth Sloan, M.D., and Pharm.D..
